ScoutWiki is an implementation of a Wiki used with Scoutdb.org. OK, well what is a Wiki? A Wiki is a web tool that allows you to not only view web pages, but to edit existing pages or create new ones. A Wiki is a collaboration tool that allows everyone in the group to help maintain information and add new information.

Wikis have two major features. The first is that every page is editable. On every page there will be an "Edit" link. Clicking on this link will open up the "source" for that page in an edit box within your web browser. Make the changes in your web browser, click on "Preview" to see what the changes will look like, and then click on "Save" to save the changes.

The second feature is that the page "source" is just plain text with some simple formatting rules you can use. It's much simpler than trying to write web pages, and you don't even need to include any special formatting if you don't want to.

Wiki pages contain only text with only simple formatting rules. There is also a limited set of image files you can include in your wiki pages. See the [img] formatting rule below for more detail on how to include these graphic images in your wiki page.
